Plain-English summary
The full terms below. If anything conflicts with the summary, the full terms govern.
Who we are
“AnimeLegends.ai,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to the entity operating the animelegends.ai website and related services. By using the site, buying a template, or joining the community, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the services.
These terms form a binding contract between you and us. You must be at least 13 years old (or 16 in the EEA) to create an account.
Your account
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account.
- Use your real email. Accounts with obviously fake or disposable email addresses may be suspended without notice.
- One person, one account. Organizations may operate shared Studio accounts under a separate Studio-tier agreement.
- You can close your account at any time. We will delete or anonymize your data per our Privacy Policy.
Your content (stays yours)
Everything you submit to AnimeLegends.ai — Atlas entries, comments, showcase posts, application forms — remains your intellectual property. Full stop.
In exchange for us hosting and displaying it, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to:
- Display your content on the site and in our marketing.
- Excerpt it in newsletters, social posts, and editorial roundups.
- Format, translate, and paginate it for technical operation of the site.
This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for content that has been legitimately republished elsewhere (quoted in a newsletter that already shipped, for example) and for retained-for-legal-defense metadata described in the Privacy Policy.
You promise that the content you submit is yours to submit, does not infringe anyone else’s copyright or trademark, is not defamatory, and complies with fair-use rules in the Vault Legal Posture where those apply.
Our content
The AnimeLegends.ai brand, mascot names (AKASHI, KAGE, MIRA, and any others we add), mascot visual designs, character-sheet descriptions, voice directions, signature sigils, and original worldbuilding are our intellectual property.
Marketing copy, photography, videos we produce, and the site’s interface design are ours unless marked otherwise. You may link to our pages and quote reasonable excerpts with attribution.
Template license
When you buy a template (Character Bible OS, Soundtrack Bible, Anime Studio Landing Page, etc.), you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for your own creative work, commercial or personal.
What you can do
- Use the template in unlimited commercial projects you personally operate.
- Modify, extend, and adapt it to your needs.
- Ship products, content, and services built on top of the template.
- Use it inside a team of up to five collaborators on the same project under a single-seat license.
What you can’t do
- Resell the template as-is, or as the primary value of a bundle, course, or marketplace listing.
- Redistribute the raw source files publicly (e.g., upload to GitHub under your name).
- Claim the template as your original work in tutorials or portfolios.
- Use the template to train a third-party model for commercial resale.
Teams of six or more, agencies, and studios need a multi-seat license — email licensing@animelegends.ai.
Forge (MIT + carve-out)
Code, skills, MCP servers, Remotion templates, and slash commands published in the public Forge repository are licensed under MIT with a carve-out for mascot and worldbuilding IP. Full details in /legal/ip and in the LICENSE.md at the repository root.
Path community
The Path community (Discord, newsletter, Keeper tier, Studio tier) is governed by these Terms plus a Community Code of Conduct published on Discord.
- Keeper-tier subscribers agree to the editorial and fair-use rules in the Vault Legal Posture when submitting Atlas entries.
- Studio-tier members agree to a separate Studio Operator Agreement executed at application approval.
- Revenue-share payments to Keepers are governed by the Payments section below and by any payee onboarding agreement with Stripe.
Community conduct
We expect, and will enforce, the following:
- No harassment. No slurs, no targeted abuse, no dogpiling, no doxxing.
- No infringement. Don’t upload copyrighted frames, audio, or scripts. Don’t share torrents. Don’t rip and redistribute.
- No spam. No unsolicited promotions, affiliate dumping, or engagement farming.
- No deception. Don’t impersonate other members, the studio, or third parties.
- No illegal content. CSAM, credible threats, and material that violates applicable law are permanent-ban offenses and will be reported to law enforcement.
Enforcement: one warning → temporary suspension → permanent ban. Severe violations skip warnings. Appeals go to trust@animelegends.ai.
Payments & refunds
- Processors. Templates are sold via Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy. Subscriptions (Keeper, Studio) are billed via Stripe or Lemon Squeezy.
- Currency. Prices are displayed in USD by default. Local currency is handled by the processor at the point of checkout.
- Taxes. VAT, GST, and sales tax are collected and remitted by the processor where required.
- Refunds. Templates: 14-day no-questions refund. Subscriptions: cancel anytime; we do not prorate mid-cycle, but you keep access through the end of the paid period.
- Chargebacks. A chargeback without prior contact may result in account suspension pending investigation.
- Revenue share. Keeper revenue-share payouts are paid quarterly via Stripe once you cross the $50 threshold. Tax documents (1099, W-8BEN, etc.) are handled by Stripe’s payee onboarding.
Termination
You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, the Community Code of Conduct, the Vault Legal Posture, or applicable law. For serious violations we may terminate without prior notice.
On termination: your access to paid features ends; your Atlas entries remain published under your attribution unless you request removal; your purchased templates remain licensed to you personally.
Disclaimers
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
AI-generated outputs from the pipeline, templates, or skills may contain errors, inaccuracies, or unintended bias. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before shipping them.
Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICES IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU HAVE PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).
WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOST PROFITS OR LOST DATA, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the minimum extent permitted by law.
Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of content you submit, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third party’s rights.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which AnimeLegends.ai is formally incorporated (to be specified when incorporation completes — update notice will be published here). Until then, Delaware, U.S.A. is the presumptive default.
For disputes: we will try to resolve things informally first. If we can’t, disputes will be resolved by binding arbitration in the applicable jurisdiction, except that either party may bring a small-claims action in its local court, and either party may seek injunctive relief in court for IP matters.
EU residents retain their mandatory consumer-protection rights and may bring disputes in their local courts where applicable law requires.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms. For material changes, we will post a notice at least 14 days before they take effect and email active account holders. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
